The PhD is as such placed within the social sciences but through its association in the 2BG-project will benefit from knowledge exchange with a number of other PhD students organised at the promising line-of-exchange between engineering disciplines and natural science disciplines.

The PhD student will be associated with the R&D project ’Black, Blue and Green – Integrated infrastructure planning as key to sustainable urban water systems’ (2BG), and offered PhD courses. The Municipality of Aarhus will provide data and other case specific materials, and support the student with information of relevance for the analysis. GMCB will offer co-supervision within sustainable development, economics, sewage and environment, attachment to ongoing projects for case studies, and insight into assessment tools being used today. The results obtained can be discussed in a wider context with the researchers, consultancies, end-users, professional associations and other students enrolled in the 2BG-project. GMCB and the Municipality of Aarhus are both fully involved in the 2BG research network.
